Build Quality

Lately google did something to their rank algorithm,   the reason cited is that google wanted to provide more relevant results, google engineers published blog post which indicated there were 11.8% organic search results will be affected, say it another way, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. The update was initiated more than a year ago, maybe that’s why some of my ranks dropped out of first 10 pages, the good thing is that those keywords promoted by content rich links are not affected, a few of these keywords ranked better than ever, it’s almost a sure thing that plain link building loses all it’s attraction, at least in the eye of google.

What is old way of link building any way? a large percentage of SEO firms will do this,  they add your links to those linking websites without context, these websites will only be updated when new links are being added, and most of them are useless, the name of link spamming sites is justified. The latest google update will definitely downgrade most if not all of these sites, all the links on those websites will have the same fate.  

Examples will be great for explanation. When I got into online marketing long time ago, I started with this keyword, Mini Load Binders, at that time almost every body was doing plain linking campaign, lately I figured that every site in the campaign had way too many links, and those sites had only links, no real content at all. I would give credit where credit is due, this linking strategy worked, eventually the keyword could be found on first page, this was the case until google made the change. Here is another keyword, chain puller , we put the link in relevant context, with very few plain links, now we have really good ranking for this keyword. So contextual link wins this time, what about future? Actually this is all about content, as long as you dole out high quality content, not only people will love to read your stuff, so do the search engines. How do you do it? Bottom line is that you should create great content, share the content with people, promote your business with the content, your effort will reward you handsomely in the end. Whatever you do, you will need persistence and patience, nothing will automatically improve overnight, be it your business or search rankings, now all we have to do is to give our love for creating and sharing quality content and not to worry about the ranking all the time.
